Here's a full shingle roof replacement we wrapped up on Staten Island - start to finish. The old roof was completely shot. Cracked, brittle shingles that had long passed their useful life. Getting ahead of it before serious water damage sets in is always the right call, and that's exactly what this homeowner did.
First step was a full tear-off. Every layer of old material came off so we could get a clean look at the decking underneath. No shortcuts here. Once the surface was clear and prepped, we laid down GAF Deck-Armor underlayment across the entire field of the roof, followed by GAF ShingleLayment in the critical zones. That layered approach to the moisture barrier is what separates a roof that lasts from one that causes problems a few years down the road.
Then came the GAF Timberline HD shingles. These are architectural shingles - meaning they have dimensional texture and a lot more body than basic 3-tab shingles. They hold up well against wind and impact, and they look sharp once installed. The ridge lines came out clean and tight, which is usually the first thing that tells you whether a roofing crew actually takes pride in their work.
The finished product speaks for itself. Warm tan shingles, crisp hip and ridge lines, and a roof that's built to protect this home for decades. If your roof is showing its age - curling edges, missing granules, or spots where it's just starting to look tired - waiting usually costs more in the end. We do this work all over Staten Island, and we treat every job like it's the only one on the schedule.
